Elegance coral-swollen

Hello fellow reefers.
I am new to this forum however have been dabbling in the hobby for years.
I recently acquired a beautiful aussie CATALAPHYLLIA JARDINEI specimen from liveaquaria. It arrived healthy and opened almost immediately. I had to move it a time or two to adjust for light and flow. It is currently on my sand bed in a 150 gallon tank. I believe I have it in a great spot however this morning it was swollen with short tentacles. Clearly there is a lot of info out there however I am hoping someone can comment on the state of mine. It may just be a common occurrence? I have seen no white mucous or brown jelly. I have had it for almost 2 weeks. Any help or opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Mine does that on occasion, following to see why they do it.

Mine puffs up when i feed it so it may be a feeding response, dont think its deadly since mine are still alive and well

^ depends mine never swells up when I feed it ever. I have also had mine 7 years now, not to worry you but I have seen them parish after doing this, I have also seen and heard of people's doing this and it going back to normal. Also does I think look normal at night? I wish I could help you better but I only had this happen once back in 08 and that one died, also hear that elaganc3 corals are became harder to keep.

I did notice one thing about your stats, I hear they are collected from dirty parts of reefs and actually like some what dirty water. Maybe your tank is nutrient poor, meaning the water is to clean. LPS's like a little bit a trates.

Elegance coral-swollen

Looks ok to me. Ive had my Aussie elegance for a year now. Some days it super extended and others its kinda closed up. I stopped worrying about it after a month or so. Mine just kinda does what it wants. I recentley upped my flow and that kinda ticked it off for a few days but its coming around.

I've seen this quite a bit working at a fish wholesaler. They come in good & stay that way a few days then get swollen-I think it's just a acclimation process they go through. Some do fine while others start receding or get that brown jelly infection-The Aussie ones do better but I agree that they've become harder to keep now than back in the days. good luck with it.
