i am trying to get an elegance coral. i have looked at a few online vendors. there is a choice of indo-pacific vs an australian varieties. it appears that the australian are more expensive but also considered more hardy. is that still true? any difference in their appearance?
is it worth paying up for the australian ?

I agree with this response, however overall I've noticed that elegance coral out of Australia generally look better (color/pattern). I think it has a lot to do with the fact that most indos that come in these days are already looking shady and going downhill.

Most aussies are smaller too, and a lot of them are actually coming in as healed frags. Look at the skeleton, if its a "baby" full skeleton (looks same as asdult), then it wasn't fragged. You'd be suprised to flip a bunch over and see that most of them have been cut off of a mother via hack-saw action! Cool thing is that they are hardy, and can take it.

100% aussie all the way if you want one!

Heres a good overall elegance thread...lots of pics!

There is a HUGE difference. If one of them is overpriced, it is the Indo. At $5 a piece, the Indo would still be over priced.
