Hi Friends,
I had a brown/green elegance which outgrew my tank in an year, so had to give it off to a fellow reefer and bought a small green elegance. This was imported from Bali, Indonesia.
The first elegance used to eat pieces of shrimp and used to expand almost half of my tank, however the new one which is 2 month old now is not accepting any food at all. its completely green in color with white polyps with purple tips. The previous one was mostly brown with few places green. I tried feeding brine shrimp , market prawns but still it does not get a hold of this and just let the fishes or shrimps take it from him.
Also, it does not expand very well like the old one which used to inflate as if it was about to come out of the skeleton. Also at night the entire flesh goes inside the skeleton with only one side showing off some polyps.
Any advise ? I have a small 1 inch clown hosting it, but don't think it is big enough to torture it.
How can i get it to feed ?
Tank is 50 gallons
salainity - 1.025
nitrate - 0
alk - 8
have some cyano after started using biopellets but now reduced once i stopped biopellets.
Inhabitants are 3 lyretail anthias and 2 percula clowns.
clove polyps , GSP, blue clam , pink and green birds nest (small frags) few zoas.
Also my alkalinity or calcium levels do not seem to be dropping since few weeks, does it mean there is no growth ?
Please advise.
