Elementary Classroom Tank

Trying to restock the tank...

Happy Sunday everyone. I am trying to restock my classroom tank and am looking for a handful of items. If anyone knows of any great deals, is selling them or just wants to get some out of your tank"¦PLEASE let me know! Myself and my students would greatly appreciate it! :)

We are looking for a sand-sifting goby (was thinking like a sleeper head goby, but it needs to be a small one and they never seem to carry them in store), pulsating zinnias, green star polyps, a rock anemone, and any/everything to stock my refugium"¦and anything else you think a classroom/teaching tank should have in it. :)

We took pictures today, so I'm sure they will be posted shortly. Thanks again.

Today was a day of accomplishments. I was able to build the shelf for the refugium, paint the refugium tank, cut the glass for the lid, and place the light. All that is left for the refuge is to plumb it in. I have ordered the hole saw bit and bulkheads, just waiting for them to come in. The plan is to have a thick sand bed, and place some beneficial algae and plants. However, I don't know much about refugiums so I am looking for some input. Remember this is a classroom tank, so we need to be able to teach about the “ecosphere" relationship.

What plants should we place?
How deep should the sand bed be?
What critters should be place in there?
What type of water movement should there be? (strong or low)
Mangroves or no mangroves <——— I just really want to put mangroves some where!

In addition to the refugium, we place a few coral from my frag tank. Mostly zoantids. The Berghia Nudibranchs arrive on Wednesday, and I hope their hungry.
