Thought I would update how I recently removed some scratches on the inside of the tank. I had inadvertently made some long scratches while using the cleaning magnet, must have been some debris underneath the magnet and before I knew it I had scratched about a third of the front viewing panel with long back and forth scratches from top to bottom.
I decided on the following:
Ingersall Rand 3 HP 60g compressor

Ingersall Rand Random Orbital Sander 4152 HL

Ingersall Rand 5 micron filter/regulator

Micro-Mesh 6" sanding discs hook & loop 1500, 1800, 2400, 3200, 3800, 4000, 6000, 8000, 10,000, 12000 grit
Method:
First, I used organic olive oil instead of compressor oil in the compressor. The compressor came without oil in it, but actually it had a little in there probably from testing it at the factory. So I ran olive oil in it and then changed it three times to make sure there was no petroleum based oil left in there.
The orbital sander is "oil free" type of sander.
I installed a 5 micron filter for further protection. In addition I ran a hose from the orbital sander exhaust to a bucket outside the tank to collect any residue coming from the air exhaust. This also significantly reduced the bubbles and noise.
My good friend Ryan assisted me when doing the job, a great help, thanks Ryan!
We used magnets to mark off the area, about a 3' x 3.5'. The total sanding from beginning to end took about 1 hour, starting at 1500 grit to sand out all the scratches first. This took the longest. We then went over the entire area with each successive grit up to 12000. When done all scratches were gone and clarity was like new.
I was not even tired after doing the sanding. No ill effects to livestock. I have very fine sand which was not affected, no sand storm.
I soaked and ran the sander in a small tub of rubbing alcohol afterwards to absorb all the water.
Here is a short video of the job:
