Elos Aminoacids Monodose

Sounds great :) 11 days and that much improvement is unbelievable.
Yes, but keep in mind I have no fish so I am able to feed the tank as I see necessary and it makes it easier to control all parameters. The water parameters stay constant at all times. Plus with skimming and good circulation I am able to keep the PH steady no matter what time of day. So far I am excited about this product. I am getting some good results.

I am going to chime in here as I have been using the Elos Omega AA for about a week now. I am using the new concentrated prodcut, and being very conservative with the dosing. The total water volume of the system is approx 75 gal, so I am dosing 3 drops every other night, about an hour before lights out. I feed Oyster Eggs primarliy 2 times a week about an hour after the AA are dosed.

My initial opinion is good so far. I have not seen any algae issues, that being said I skim hard and have tons of flow. I feel I have seen a bit of increase in Blues, especially on the tips of a particular Mille. Hate to hijack, but wanted to offer some more insight .
Please feel free to chime in and give us your experince with the AA's

Any news Michael? I am going to call around and see who is selling the AA in Chicago and beging with a low dose here I think.

Jeff

I believe that Sea Schor carries some of the Elos products; they may have the AA. It might be a trek for you though as they are in Buffalo Grove on Dundee.

The good news is I picked up my new bike!! Oh you mean on the AA's, lol
Nothing to really mention at this point. I have to fix the r/o solenoid because one of my d/i filters released some beads and it caused the solenoid to not work properly. I am replacing the d/i filter and placing a pre-filter before the solenoids to prevent this from happening again. The good thing is that the solenoids can be taken apart to clean them. The make up water system should be back on line soon. Also the timer for the halides stopped working yesterday so I spent the day trying to find a new one to replace the old one. Its seems that these are good for about three years then they seem to fail. The tank was without Mh for most of the day but it did not seem to affect the corals at all. Now the light cycle is back to normal as of today.

The corals still are showing tremendous growth especially the monti caps and green slimmer and ora tort. Most sps also are showing good growth rates. Colors are much better than before even with the short light cycle that I run.
I still am feeding the tank three times a week but I doubled the amount of food that I give the tank. I don't measure it, I just guesstimate it, lol. Water parameters are still perfect!
Still early to give my over all opinion on this product since it has only been two weeks. I think the dosing procedure I am using is working out nicely for the tank. On a good note I have not had any issues with algae at all, so far except for maybe a film on the glass which is cleaned every three days whether it needs it or not.

I just got my battery charger in yesterday with a bunch or rechargeable aa batteries for the camera and my children's electronic gear. Once I get the batteries charged I may take some pics of the corals, that is if i can find the time because I am going for a ride on the new bike!:D
Take care
Mike

The problem is whenever I go to Seashor, I spend a couple hundred dollars on things that "I just can live without" :)
I should call Steve and see if he has the AA's.

I have the Elos AA in shipment. Please continue to post results and I will do the same. The instructions for mine are 1-3 drops per day per 26.5 gallons. Are you guys using a weekly dosage?

I went ahead and dosed the third vial/packet into the tank last night. This time I did not notice the usual polyp extension as I had before when dosing the AA's. As a matter of fact the corals did not extend their polyps until I actually fed the tank. A couple of corals have actually lightened up a bit since dosing the AA's and the ones that have colored up are staying a nice color. But for most all I have seen is good growth and no color improvements. I have had no major issues with algae except I have seen a couple of very small bubble algae in a couple of spots. Nothing more to report at this time.
Please any one else using these AA's chime in with your experience and opinions.

Last Monday night I administered the fourth weekly dose of the Elos amino acid. The corals did not seem to respond to it as they did when I first started the aa's. No polyp extension till about a half hour after dosing and thats when I fed the tank. I have begun to see a bit more algae in the tank, nothing serious but more algae growth. This maybe due to me increasing the food that is fed to the tank so I will cut back to my normal feedings.

The one coral has completely bleached and seems as if it should make a complete recovery. As far as colors go most corals have improved in color but some are still not coloring up. I have noticed some good growth so far in the ones that have colored up. The ones that have not colored up are still encrusting to the rock at a good rate. Maybe they will color up as soon as they are done encrusting.

I have a brain coral that will be dropping five clones of itself soon, I think. I keep watching it so I can intervene when it is ready to drop the clones so I can try to mount them on a frag. I think this has nothing to do with the AA's because it was doing this before I started to dose but the coral color has become vibrant since dosing.
Thats about all I have to report so far.

Thanks
Mike

I think at four weeks of dosing, it is a bit early for before and after pics. I will post at the end of my trials with the AA's which should be another 9 or so weeks.

I am going to have to cut this thread short because I am in the process of tearing down my tank for personal matters. But first let me say I have continued to dose the AA's up to this point as planned and my conclusion is that maybe this stuff is just not worth dosing in the tank. I am not saying it dose not do anything but my experience is that I did not see any benefits from dosing the AA's. So I would rather save my money for other things that may be needed.
Take care all and sorry I have to cut this short.
Mike

Micheal,

I followed your tank build and was eager to see this thread through . I am glad to hear / read the results. I was thinking of dosing AA's but not now......

I am heartbroken that you are tearing the tank down. I hope everything works out for you.

Again, I appreciate your hard work and efforts to communicate your experiences with all of us.

Take Care

Thanks Henry,
Even though I did not finish the whole box of A/a I am confident in my findings. I for one can see no need to dose A/a. I am sure I will return to the hobby in due time.
Thanks
Mike

Is there a list of amino on the bottle? There is 20 AA currently known and you can buy Gel Cap at drug store and you know how much of each there is.
