ELOS C-80 Update

I purchased my system 10/5 and so it hasn't been set up all that long. I have attached a full tank shot so that you can see the progress to date. I typically use a standard horizontal frag rack but found one by Thrive that is more of a tree and I thought it would be worth trying for the ability to put frags in different intensity of light - worth a try. That is shown on the far left of the tank.

I also include a close up of a new fungi that I am really liking - never had them before (prior systems) and they are fascinating. Like the stripe coloration of the plate.

Here are a few new corals/frags that I picked up over the holidays. So I photographed (all be it poorly) an Acan frag, my mini colony of a second Acan, Green/Purple Yuma, Pandora Zoas (from the top of the tank) and a new coral I really like, was told it is Oulophyllia. At night the light green tentacle come out to feed and the base background is a teal - really unusual. I also got 2 bright Orange Yumas but couldn't get a decent photo.

Looking great! I really like your aquascaping--it's very natural looking and well proportioned to the tank. Can you post a bit more about your frag rack? It looks like it's hanging on the side of your tank?

hello how does the aquatop work?

how do you connect the T5 or LED strips, can I use like ecoxtic strips?

Yedgy: I want the tank to look natural so I really appreciate the kind comment. Thrive makes two kind of frag trees the vertical one that I have and then a 360 which is a full tree. There are two suction cups that hold the frag tree onto the side of the tank and it can only be mounted in a vertical position. The mounting tabs have a smooth side or a rough side and I thought about using the smooth side for the zoas in case they grow over the plug onto the tab.

I found the following picture of the product and it comes in the typical Thrive bag which I wasn't looking for and walked right by it at AA (since you are in Phoenix) and it was $19.95. I would buy it again but not as the only rack. I like the horizontal racks I get from "frag-a-rack".com. I have bought several and have never had any issues with them; and I am not affiliated with either in any way - just sharing my experience.

Hope this helps answer your question - if not just let me know.

A Z: I am not using the aqua top. I don't like the look of it and I am concerned that in AZ having such a closed top with lighting so close to the water surface is going to be a heat conductor - even with LEDs. I think the look is terrific, but I am using an AI Sol Blue for my system. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info on the frag tree. I swing by Aquarium Arts about once every 5 or 6 weeks, so I'll be sure to check it out next time I go over there.

New Addition

New Addition

I have never purchased from LiveAquaria, but I was enticed by the new wrasse that they have - Kuiter's Leopard Wrasse. I should be getting her Friday morning and will post pictures of her. Can't wait for the arrival.

I received my Kuiter's leopard this am at 10:00 but unfortunately the wrasse was DOA. Incredible packing and handling by LA, but wrasses are delicate shippers so it is always a risk. I will reorder again from LA - wonderful customer service and very helpful. I have never seen a KLW before and she was beautiful....I have to get one now that I have seen one in person.

Here are a few additions to the system. I am so pleased to have the Divided Leopard it is a great addition and I added 1000 amphipods and am feeding her several times to get her onto frozen food.
