Elton's reef tank in Taiwan

One of my friend told me, it also has to check red bug in the night.
Because the PE are not good also.

Redbugs would be fairly obvious and we usually detect them with good lighting and using a magnifying lens or when take macro shots and looking at the photos on a computer. Redbugs are unmistakable.

Those small circular marks look like AEFW bite marks more than anything else. I encountered Acro eating flatworms 3 times since I started keeping SPS around 15 years ago. Most recent was last year...I really hope you dont have them.

I would remove that colony and put it in QT. :uhoh2:

sahin,
I use below tools to see my sps some times. For these days no matter day or night( with LED spot light), I really do not see any red bug on my sps so it can ignore it.

For The AEFW I am still monitor it and I will take another shot to do the compare. I really they are just a "nature stripe" due to the distributed Zooxanthellae problem.

Color overload on my eyes, great coral selection!
Sorry to hear about the Acro Flatworms, those are never fun to deal with.
Many people quit the hobby from that or RedBugs.

Redbugs are easy to deal with. I certainly wouldnt leave the hobby due to redbugs. Interceptor is a very good in tank treatment for Redbugs with little disadvantage to the tank (pods die).

AEFW's are a different story...but they too are not unbeatable. There must be a flatworm medication out there that will work against AEFW's. I wish we would have found it by now...but lots of experimentation is needed.

Some of friend use KCI to kill AEFW but it needs remove fish, shripm......first.
And repeat this method 3 times in one month, hard job but useful.

Hope I will not use it !

Elton, I missed the post with the lens. I would love to have those lens. Is that the non L series lens? How do you like it?

Yes, they are Canon L lens.

I always use L lens because the photo image very gentle and color is really truthful. Especially macro 100mm lens for object ( 50mm is better for take people image).

The only problem is they are a little bit expensive.......

第一張是10/30天前拍的 第二張是11/9號拍的
First pic took on 10/30 and second one took on 11/9

應該沒有問題了吧!
It should be recovered!

Glad to hear it! Did you find the culprit for those marks?

No culprit found.

I ask some of my friend and aquarium shop about this situation. But just one friend told it is nature in the field but after put into our tank the mark will disappear by itself.

So currently it is the only answer I accepted.

What do you mean "DIY Amino acids ?" From human use formula?

Animal use formula

Impressive!
How long do you use this formula in your tank?
No algae problem?
