I am starting to see a few bubble algae start to grow and was going to get one for my tank. What other algae so do they eats, and are there any dangers to having them in my aquarium. Any dos and don'ts

Ya, don't get one. Do a search here for Emerald Crab and start reading. Mine killed two small royal grammas and a few peppermint shrimp before I caught him with the last royal gramma. He caught it while it was sleeping at night. don't get one

My experience.... Manually remove all the bubble algae you can. If you buy crabs, buy the smallest you can. When they get big they're jerks. The small ones keep the bubble algae in check before it starts to make a come back.

I would agree with buying the small ones or if you can get females. It's mostly the males that go rogue after their shell is an inch from point to point. I've got some bubble algae on only one of my rocks, problem is my Golden Midas Blenny lives in that rock so I can't remove it. It's also strange that it's only on this one rock and all of the bubbles are very small. I'm trying something else to get rid of the bubble algae and if it works I'll tell what it is. If not I may get a small emerald crab but will make sure it's a female.
