Emergency ATO water?

Yeah, that was a REALLY bad guess lol I'd say it's probably closer to .75 to 1 gallon a day simply based on all the info you guys have given lol

It depends on your home (level of humidity) and how much surface area your tank/sump has exposed to the air. So what is true for one tank isn't necessarily true for another. Size of the aquarium doesn't matter as much as exposed water surface area does.

this ^. on days when it was getting near 100* here, i ran a little clip-on fan over the surface water in my sump. i was getting 1-1.5g of evaporation every day.

there was another thread on here recently where someone claimed that most distilled water was actually RODI cause is was a cheaper process than steam distillation....and they just called it distilled to not confuse people....i still havent gotten around to reading the fine print on my distilled water jug....but thats all i've ever topped off with

So I have a question I have heard to do a water change during a diatoms cycle then I have heard not to do one so which is it

I have been using the distilled wster from cvs or walmart in my 3g for w while with nk problem. If I start another tank I will likely invest in a rodi unit

If you look at the distilled water ingredients on the walmart gallon plastic container you'll see that it says something to the effect of....... "Water can be Processed by the following: Distillation, RO, Carbon filtration,.........etc....." so it pretty much means it can be processed by one or all of the listed methods.

Yeah, I made it til he got back into town, but I also ordered my own RODI unit so I don't have to worry about this any more
