ok...Russ is out of power, tank is down to 68 degrees..trying to think up ways to get it heated again. tryed boiling water in tupperware but it blew off the lips...I suggested ziplock bags..we will see...any help now would be WONDERFUL!!!!!

If he has an inverter, tell him to plug it in and run the heater off of that. I'd come help but I am alone at work.

Heat the water but keep the lids cracked so they can expand the air.

I was thinking heat tank water and then pour it back into the tank very slowly, would be more effective than exchanging heat with jugs of water i think.

Hmm, there is the hotwater heater. Not sure how hot that water would still be, but that has got to have a little left in it that you could use somehow

I have a propane heater if we could get it to you Russ.
Oh yeah we have a kerosene heater to. We could head up from Pueblo if you think we could get to your house.

You know what i just thought of if the stove is close to the tank or within 20 feet or something, you could rig up a tube to bring the hot air into the canopy and therefore heat it up. I'd use some pipe if i had it, or dryer vent hose, or maybe make hose somehow out of some plastic or something. Man where is Mcgyver where we need him, keep us posted that really sucks

The hot water heater should be well insulated. There is a drain valve on the bottom. Two liter soda bottles 3/4 full of hot water in the sump too.

no....he found glassware..slow going so everyone just put out your good thoughts....power probly wont be back till tomarro...any suggestions will always help...

space heater under the blanket covered tank. Also important is water movement. Keep the water moving in the tank every now and then for the oxygenation.

Does, he have a gas stove? If so, do what Chris said and heat the tank water and return it slowly back to the tank.
