Hi, in the blink of an eye (5mins) my nem went from no where near my wave maker, to getting partially sucked into it, water gone slightly cloudy, as part of it got chewed up, this literally just happened, what should I do? I've already shut the wave maker off here is pic

is this going to nuke my tank??

i'd say about the only thing you could do immediately is a big water change and try to siphon as many pieces of the (shredded) nem as you can get.

Good thing I have carbon, and there are no real shredded pieces floating around, not even small pieces, I hope this doesn't nuke my tank, already got water mixing too

Ok, so I got it out of the wave maker, doesn't look like much damage was done to the anemone, but can I get some opinions on how it could affect my tank please? I have now filled my carbon reactor(can't get anymore in) it's a brs style one, I have roughly 20% water change mixing right now, and have managed to take out 3 very small pieces of anemone tentacles, I just can't see anymore, if I do see them I will suck them out, here is a pic of the damage done to the nem

You'll be fine after your water change. I'm sure the nem will heal as well. It might do a split first though. So don't be surprised if it does split.

It might, it's quite large, was probably due to split, ya know how quick it moved that far? Wow real fast!! It's moved about 10inches within 10minutes, no exaggeration!! Was very lucky I saw it as I was going to bed, it's almost 12:00midnight here, thanks for the advice, I appreciated it very much guys, I'll be putting pads over the pumps 2moro afternoon

One reason I have really been contemplating a gyre as their not nearly as deadly as the propeller pumps if something like this were to occur.

I agree akida, I've been thinking about getting one myself, however, I don't think it would make much of a difference, a gyre would have to suck water in from somewhere, so I think there would still be a danger of an anemone getting even partially sucked in, probably just not as bad as a prop pump
