JESUS! the innocent snail just passed by to eat algae but it captured and swollowed it!

not the gig fell in troubles to jet out the snail shell and the pin of the shell has gave a cut on its body!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

am i supposed to do anything to help? or just wait and see whats happening the next!!!!!!!!!

ive never come across such problems and now completely confused!!!

I just added a carpet so I don't have much experience but from what I have read CUC members being eaten is not that rare of an occurrence. That being said, I think would just let it be. Assume the cut is near the mouth?

IMO all you can do is make sure you maintain the best water quality you can provide and ensure nothing starts picking at the cut. Where exactly is the cut? Is the cut around the mouth?

Yes its just at the mouth

but my pair of clownfish is hosted by the nem

the bigger female likes to gig the mouth, dunno why

My haddoni eats snails on a regular basis, without harm. Are you sure the snail caused the damage?

yup, coz i saw the shell under it and punching out

but it seemingly recovered but still fails to jet the shell out

here is the pic. its still doing hard work

I wouldn't worry about it at all. Under my biggest Haddoni is a collection of shells, at least 8 of them, and one urchin "shell", never had any damage.

About 10 years ago one of mine ate a queen conch, which was about golfball sized and was fine for it.

If u search this forum u can find pics of one that ate the clownfish nori clip on someones tank. it spit it out just fine.

also under my gig is a snail graveyard..

I think it'll be just fine to leave it alone. My 16" haddoni ate plenty of my 1" trochus snails before I traded it.

In the millions of years anemones have evolved... that has to have happened before and I wouldnt worry too much about it..

That is my solution to lots of reef scenerios. haha probobly doesnt help
