My emperor angel is getting alot of white blotch looking spots. It looks like its under the skin. He shows no sign of being sick and dosent rub himself against anything. I would really appreciate any imput. Thanks much

Can you post some pictures? My clown has Ich, but didn't try to scratch on anything either.

Is he new to the tank or did you add anything new,,could just be common stress spots which a lot of angels and tangs get..

Yeah, lots of folks think this is ich and they need to do some serious research. Not being to ID various parasites is a quick way to destroy the hobby for you. Ich resembles salt grains in color, shape & size. They have some depth.

I just added a big french angel to my 150 gal. aquarium, but he dosent seem to have any problem with him. the addition might have stressed him . There seems to be less spots on him today. Thanks to everyone who replied!!!!

Diagnosing fish disease

Last week I posted about my empoer angels white blotchy spots that look like ther under the skin. After receiving info through this forum I decided it was caused by stress. This morning I found my blue powder looks like **** !!! They are eating well and show no other signs of sickness but they look like hell!!! My worry about treatment is mis diagnosis. Any suggestions would be greatly apprecated. Thanks gofish727

I moved this into your previous thread ;)

Can you take some pictures and post them? Also better description of what your seeing would help with coming up with a diagnosis.

You should put the fish in a treatment tank. IMO you should prazipro all fish at bare minimum. Angels don't do great with copper and some fare much better than others. I prazipro and the used cupramine with my juv emperor (3"). The emperor that had been eating everything stopped eating for a few days, then slowly started eating pellets and now is back to eating everything. Whatever you do I would be careful to try to keep the stress to a minimum.
