nope. I have a hunch that the time it takes for each individual to fully mature varies from specimen to specimen. Additionally, it's been well documented that not all specimens of Pomacanthus imperator develop completely properly in captivity.

Awesome pix G-man! I thought about getting one in the past based on your keeping one in a reef. But in light of the phantom coral nipper (most likely my cherub angle), I don't think I could handle putting a potential nipper into my tank again.

we had a discussion at the dinner table last night about coral nippers and your camera surveillance set up was mentioned, Cully :)

I'll bet your culprit is the Cherub Angelfish.

Mark Klier gave me his fool proof method for catching fish. He waits 2 hours after lights out, then turns lights on suddenly. Fish get stunned with light, and are stuporous for a short period of time allowing you to grab them.

My only problem is that the angel's sleeping spot is in this hole I can't get at. I don't know whudumgonnado!

Like I said, the system is foolproof. Probably why it's not workin for me.

As for the video surveillance. 3 days of "filming", Nothing. Took the camera down, WHAMMO, got another one. This is getting rediculous!!! I'm being toyed with for cryin out loud!!!!

I'll give it a shot. But when it's done, i'm gonna take this fish out for a beer. A Game well played!!!

or maybe a beer-battered fish fry??

Is your imperator a "grunter" Gary? Mine was so loud I went to answer the "knock on the door" more than once...

John

Emperor grunts, blats, clicks... all sorts of weird noises. Sometimes it sounds like a knock at the door and sometimes it sounds like thunder outside.
I think mine is a male. I don't believe he's done growing.
