Emperor Angelfish- hopefully eventually a pair

Yes I had a male and 4 females-the behaviour and interaction between the group was facinating to watch-The male would wander all over the tank but each of the females had a defined area (except at meal times) I think my SPS could have coped with the predation of 1 or 2 fish but 5 was just too many and the corals suffered. The fish went to a 10' softy tank where they are happily living today.

Its a little difficult to get good pictures of the emps at the moment;)

there's a big box in the way:rolleye1: with a (hopefully) female regal in there, note the male checking her out:love1:

is that box your method of Quarantining the fish or whats the story on that? what other fish do you have in your tank currently.

It is used to allow the dominant established fish to see the new acquisition without being able to harass it. It usually reduces aggression once the new fish is released. You also all the new fish to get used to lighting, feeding, and being around the aquarist in the new tank.

I couldn't have said it better myself:D

A pair of long nosed hawkfish
4xfirefish
4x yellow tangs
foxface
10x Anaman Damsels
12x Fusilier damsels
Cromis nitida
5x Cromis vandervelt
4x Chromis Retrofaciatus
2x Green Chromis
2x Emperor angels
2x(hopefully) regal Angels

My apologies for not replying to this before but I have a good excuse- I had a heart attack:eek1:

My tank wasn't looked after for about 4 months (other than feeding) my wife did her best but she was more worried about me than the tank. My tank crashed and I lost a lot of stock including my angels and some very large SPS colonies:(. I am back to full(ish) fit-ness now but it is taking a long time to get the cyno and other nasties under control.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that! Glad your OK though, its tough losing fish, but your more important. Goodluck in restocking and getting things under control.
