I have had my juvenile emperor in a quaratine tank for five weeks. Did a hypo and brought tank back to 1.024. PH 8.2,AM 0, trite 0, trates 20. Two days ago the fish started listing, rapid gill breathing, mouth open, stopped eating. Did a 10% water change followed with a 15% change. Added a small ph with air to help airate.
I could use some help.

Thanks

Yes. Over the course of a week. It had been back to 1.024 for 4 days before it stopped eating. mouth hung open and rapid gill movement.

was the hypo used for preventive treatment or did the fish display signs of the parasite?

i take it the fish was fine during hypo treatment. you raised salinity slowly over a weeks time.. hmmm.. what was the ph during hypo? i'm wondering if too much of a sudden change may have shocked the fish a bit...

Hypo was preventive. No signs of parasites. Fish eat from first intrduction. PH dipped a couple of times during lowering salinity. Buffered it right back up. I'm at a loss.

i wonder if something happened during the time period you brought the fish out of hypo...nothing i can pinpoint, except too rapid an increase at any one time..or just a ph flucuation that the fish has not recovered from...
i dont know man...just hope everything turns out ok...
