I have a 250watt SE Halide hanging 6" above the water on a 125g standard tank. My question is will that enough light to make an anemone happy and health?

Depends on several factors. A single bulb over a 6' tank is a strange setup. Do you other lighting? A single bulb will create a lot of shaded areas in your tank that will not be good for an anemone. Unfortunately, anemones do not always stay where we place them or where we want them.

Do not forget - light diminishes with the square of the distance. If you have a 250 watt bulb in the middle of a 6' tank, the farthest distance in your tank will be about 4' from the bulb. At 4', the anemone would be getting as much light as it would get from a 60 watt bulb at 1' - i.e. not very much.

Directly beneath (say within 2') of a 250 watt bulb should be adequate for any anemone. Just don't put a gigantea or haddoni down in the sand or off in the corner. It would not be bright enough.

i have other lighting over the rest of the tank. the halide is over just one side of the tank.

Well today we took the plunge and bought 3 rock flower anemones today. They seem to be settling in ok. I'll put up pictures when they have settled in to their new home.
