Alright my 44g pentagonish tank has sprung a leak and instead of trying to fix it ive decided to upgrade it will be a 100G Peninsula that will be just as a room divider in my loft and will replace my current book shelf.

Specs
Tank = 60"L x 22"w x 18"H (3/8" Standard Polished Glass)
Lighting = 6 bulb 48" T5
Skimmer = Euro Reef RS100 probably move up to a SWC 160 Cone down the line
Flow = 1 Mp40w , 1 Mp10 (soon changed to 2nd Mp40w) and Panworld 50px-x return

I would recommend you have plenty of access to the top... I would think the "boxes" will keep you from having access.

my 0.02

right now the canopy is set to be 8 inches and be able to open on both side also the lights will be on a drawer slide so they wont be in the way, also the boxes will not be bolted on so they can be removed in case of an emergency

will the 8 inch be ok for daily use?

To me 8in would be tight... maybe others will chime in..

I love every bit of the 24+in of access above the tank that I have (my tank is 24in height so I have to use a long handle scraper to reach the bottom and back corners).

Whats the gap for on the left side of the tank, the side away from the wall? Looks like a sweet build. Looking forward to watching this.
