Hi everybody i would like to upgrade for a 300 gallons and i was woundering, right now i have 3 evergrow D120 on my 180 gallons. If a buy 3 more would it be alright and for the water circulation a have 2 WP-40 and would add 2 WP-60 ?

I would think six D120s would be overkill frankly. Assuming you mean a 300DD tank, then I'd orient the fixtures with the long axis front to back and 4 ought to suffice. If you are talking an 8 foot tank, then just run four of them essentially end-to-end along the long axis of the tank. FWIW, I run a pair of Reefbreeders Photon 32 units over my 265 (approx. 200 LEDs). Regarding circulation, I run one MP40, one MP60 and a WP25. On a 300, I'd think a pair f WP60 would be good, with maybe one WP40 to blow along the back of the tank.

Yes i am talking about the 300 DD marineland, i was thinking putting 3 on the back and 3 on the front, you think it's overkill ?

I think it might be. I have the Marineland 265, which is a foot longer but not as deep, front to back, and find that 200 LEDs suffice. Given that the 300DD is not as tall, if I were you I'd start with four and see. You might end up with a fifth.

What kind of animals do you plan to keep?

Fish only: Three D120
Soft corals: Three D120
LPS and SPS: Six D120. Two rows of three. A Par meter will support my suggestion.

Keep in mind the DD has two braces that will shade.

It will be SPS and LPS that gonna be. On my 180 gallons it's have two braces at well and i dont have any shade or blind spot with my trois D120. For the PAR values is it with only 3 D120 ?

Your eyes cannot distinguish the shade but it is there.

Noted in the diagram above the numbers represent three fixtures.

One thing to consider is whether you will fill all available space with SPS, LPS, etc. I personally prefer plenty of open space, so will always include plenty of open sand in my aquascapes. Really no need to worry about lighting for theses areas.
