Agreed with the second heater and the controller. With all that equipment sounds like money isn't a big issue so I would suggest an Aqua Controller II by Neptune Systems. Reef Geek sells them at a great price. The Calcium Reactor is a bit more of choice rather than performance. Many people like My Reef Creations Calc reactors. Also Deltec Calc reactors if you are loaded, but all deltecs are over-priced and over-glorified in my opinion. Just people trying to justify why they spent 2 grand for a protein skimmer. But that is another story.

Nope, I'm not loaded I plan on spacing out the purchases over a couple months. Just figured I would rather get quality stuff and buy it once rather than buying some junk and having to replace it latter. What if I were to use the AquaController Jr. would this work also?

watch how much gph your return pump is, because the AGA mega overflows are only rated at 600 gph. you dont want anymore than that returning to your tank from the sump.

i agree withDan Thrash...smaller return pump(400-600 GPH after head loss-i.e. mag 7--JMO

You can use a Aqua Medic controller($60-$70) with their titanium heaters or your own(up to 3 heaters and up to 1000 total watts)
*a controller is a MUST-IMO

E-A-G-L-E-S I like the idea of the Aqua-Medic Controller where can I get one of those at?

I am going to follow Dan's advice on the pump.

IMO, lots of people get by without any type of controller. I dont disagree that they are beneficial, but I would personally put it as one of the last things on the list to get. It won't stop you from setting up a great tank in the mean time...just down the road, you can add it to your arsenal to further improve the system.

Dan I don't mind getting the controller, especially because of where I live it gets more than a little warm here, I just didn't want to shell out $200 for one of those Aqua Controllers.

sorry, controllers are a must if the tank room's ambient temp. changes-IMO(i.e. no central heat/air)
...relying on any individual heater's internal thermostat is not a good idea.

ga reefer guy....Ebo/Jager...Visitherm Deluxe...Rena Cal Excel...and better yet any "Titanium" heater(AquaMedic, Won, etc)

as EAGLES said, check out Ebo Jager.

Hagen has recently split their Tronic heaters into different classifications. I normally would recommend these as well, but i don't know which is their "higher end" heaters as i haven't seen any documentation on them as of late.
