Eshopps psk-75 performance question

This skimmer has been running since I started the tank in January, every time I try to set the skimmer for a wetter skimmate, the dang thing overflows. Each time tried, I made very slight adjustment, less than I quarter turn. With in a few hours foam is coming out of the collection cup. Is this normal for eshopp skimmers, or am I doing something wrong?

When fine tuning the skimmer do very fine adjustments. like 1/16 or even 1/32 and give it a few min and check again. I found on my psk75 the tube was closed about 1/2 then fine adjustments.
