estimated waiting period for buying new frags

I had a case of zoas disappearing (not sure if due to zoa pox or some other unknown phenomenon). I lost several colonies of zoas. I as wondering how long I should wait before adding any new zoas to the tank. I still have several other colonies of zoas in the tank doing just fine and none of my other corals were affected by whatever was causing the zoas to disappear. What does everyone think on waiting period before introducing more zoas.

I've heard upwards of 3 to 6 months. It'd be pointless to buy some and have them get eaten, then you'd have to wait even longer.
