Eunice Worms

Robotic Chimera

New member
Hello, i'm still a bit new here, so excuse me if i'm doing something wrong over here.

I'm planning to add a Eunice Worm to my tank (aka Bobbit worm). Yes, I know they eat everything and get huge.

What i'm wondering is if anyone else here has experience keeping them, or if they know of a supplier to purchase one from.

I've done a bit of research when planning my tank, but so far I haven't found much information on them (other that they get huge, eat everything, and are a pain to remove)

I currently have a 50-gallon with a divider near the center so I can keep the worm out corals, ect.

Anyone know how to keep these guys happy?

I know that this does not give you an answer but be cautious as they will climb over the divider to get to prey.

since these aren't typically kept in the hobby, if you don't find any good resources here you might consider contacting some zoos, universities, or aquariums. sometimes they keep oddball things like this.

it's been a few years so i don't know if they're still there, but Mote Marine down in FL had a nifty worm tank set up at one point.

Contact Richard over at TBS. as much as he dives and as much rock he handles surely he will come across one.

I'd like to have one too. Be a great conversation piece.

Thanks for the warning! Divider goes a few inches out of the tank so hopefully it would be discouraged by open air enough, but i'll keep an eye out for it.

Thanks! I'll check that out if I can't find anything.

Haven't heard of TBS yet, but i'll check it out.

If you have any local reef clubs you can contact them. One of their members might come across one and probably just give it to you since most people don't want them.

Richard, the owner, is a member here. I can't recall his handle though, maybe someone else can tell you.

PM him and tell him to keep an eye out for one while he's down there. I'm sure he would be glad to ship it to you.
