Euphyllia withdrawn after target feeding

The title says it all. There is no brown jelly, no die-back. I can see the mouth on the Euphyllia and it is closed/healthy. Just a little concerned that it has been withdrawn for over a week now.

Has anyone experienced this before?

A picture of where it is in your tank would be helpful and need to see what your parameters are as well.

Zero ammonia and nitrite,. 25 nitrate, 8.8dkh, 440 calcium, 35put salinity, 8.1 ph. I have some good pictures but reefcentral can't handle the filesize. All other corals doing well. I have lugols or rx pro. Which would you use?

FWIW the Hammer corals I've had over the years never really ate. The Lobophyllia next door was verocious, but not the hammer... The frogspawn was like that too... GL.

Did he withdraw after feeding?

Yeah, almost like it was trying to get away from it. Every time I fed coral I'd offer him some and after quite awhile I saw him finally eat. It still takes a good 15 mins or so for it to realize there is food on him to eat.

Lps pellets in to feeder tentacles. Been withdrawn since.

ime it's pretty common to see LPS issues with those if you feed too many or they're eaten too fast. They're pretty dense and dry so it takes a bit for them to fully take in all the water they need. If the center is still dry when they get eaten by the coral it'll take water from inside the coral which can really stress them.

fwiw I love the LPS pellets but I only feed 1-2 at a time and put them on the furthest tentacles.

That's a good point. Thanks. I have dipped it so fingers crossed in the next couple of days
