I opted for euro-bracing because I did not want any plastic support (a cross member) under or near my metal halide lamps. I have seen these plastic supports age and become brittle prematurely by being exposed to metal halide lighting.
Euro-bracing can come in handy as a tray like The0wn4g3 said, but I find it kinda annoying because it makes it harder to clean coralline algea on the upper part of the tank. I have a strong Hammerhead magnet cleaner, but some coralline are quite stubborn and require me to use a cleaner with a long handle. The long handled cleaner is not exactly easy to use with the euro-bracing in place. If you are a tall guy with long arms, you may find it not as bad, though.
