Hi guys,

I want a nice open top to the 7' x 30" x 30" acrylic that I am planning. Eurobracing seems to be quite unusual over here in the uk - the majority of tanjk builders I have asked dont know what I mean when I say Eurobraced..

So that I have al the info when I talk to the tank builder, what thickness of acrylic should I use for the eurobrace around the top, and how wide should it be?

I want to avoid cross bracing so that I dont then have to worry about where I put the 400WMH lights..

Cheer slots,
Bob

Hi Bob,

I'd recommend 1.25" acrylic on the vertical sides (esp front & back) and 1" for the top. The flange (eurobrace) should measure 5" or so to cut down on deflection leaving an opening measuring roughly 64 x 20".

HTH,
James
