Sorry asmodeus, but as a user of many skimmers (ER's included) I was just shocked at the blanket comment. It does pertain to the integrity of the company as well - which is on-topic since many reefers have had issues with ER's customer service IMO. I'm sure others will take from it what they wish, and I will now *unsubscribe*.

I'm a bit confused, is it pulling out lots, or not enough?

I would think that a CS8-3+ (which is the correct designation for the skimmer you have) should be plenty for a system like that. I just did a test a few minutes ago on the SP3 pump with the new impeller running on a CS135 and it wass pulling 13 lpm air! That's 15% more than the current impeller. It would probably be a good upgrade for your skimmer pumps as soon as they are released.

Its pulling too lots in 2 days te chamber is fricking black and green crap in the collection , its like there is not strong enought to pull it out.. I have the gate valve on the unit wide open and the ar maxed wide open and still its seems it not strong enough.

I have a BB 170 gal with a 20 gal refugium ,10 mangroves ,I haev Red cynao that im waiting to get rid of I hardly feed 1 x per day.
30 gal sump U.V unit 36 W dual 40014K running 6 hrs per day supplementing with t-5's .

Fliger, let's give ER the benefit of the doubt and assume that nothing more was meant there than light hearted humor from a competing manufacturer. Those guys know better than to make stupid claims about the quality of the components used in another manufacturer's products with nothing more than anecdotal data to back it up.

After all, it doesn't take much to see that H&S skimmers are the real deal. Additionally, the H&S product line is given world class service by Finsreef. Just have a look at their forum to see for yourself.

I am curious though. I wonder what ER does with other manufacturer's products. Perhaps a form of research and development?

yeah, let me know too, I will take one to 'test' :) selling my asm, need a new skimmer now!
 
reefologist - BACK OFF i'm first in line for an ehiem!! i've been begging for quite sometime :lol: i think the ehiems are gonna sell like hotcakes!

Actually EUro Reef If you want have a Real Canadian Army guy test out your ehiems before I head back over to Afghanastan.. come on what ya say.. help out a vet:smokin: I'm looking on upgrading my CS 250:bum:
 
hey lunch...we can go no holds barred...who ever doesn't tap out gets the ehiems(on the other persons dime)...lol...besides that you have the deltec,I'm using DP-800 (original pumps). So you can clearly see that I am in much worse need....your friend reefologist
 
What do you all think of the ER CS5-3, I found a used one and thought about buying it, I also thought about the ASm G1X. Give some reviews on the ER if you have, or have had this model the ER also had the gate valve mod on it. Let me know what you guys think?

I have requested that my post (and related quotations) regarding the H&S skimmer impeller be removed. I have explained my original intention (in a subsequent post) and it has been understood by some and not by others.

I apologize for any confusion or frustration it has caused.

It was never my intention to defame any product.

Regarding Eheim BETA Testing,

We are not officially offering a BETA test for the EHEIM since we all know how well they work. We should have the pumps in a few weeks as they are on the dock in Germany ready to leave. The impellers are here and we have a few moded pumps ready to check in the shop.

Your patience will be rewarded. :)

don't you guys think you should have removed the Deltec logo from the skimmer before you posted it on the ER thread?:D

btw...do you know how long it took me to photoshop that pic with my complete lack of computer skills??? it's a work of art!!:D :D :D
