It looks like it needs to be repaired. The leak that is most common is at the union this is solved with the Silicon grease.

Does any have Euro reefs e-mail. Their site has been down for a few days and their no longer putting the e-mail addy on their page.

Nevermind it's in my owners manual. Duh.

I just bought a cs8-2. The tubing is a silcone tube that is 3/8" od and 3/16" id. The tube is like 12" long.

Wow, are you sure about that? I tried heating some 1/4" OD (I don't know the ID, but must be smaller than 3/16") and it took a lot of effort to push that on. I was thinking the tubing would be more like 3/8" ID...hmm...

That skimmer should work fine. Bigger is always better. Also ask yourself, if I upgrade my tank in the future what size will it be.

I've noticed something and I'm not sure if it is normal or not. Some collection cups have condensation on the inside outter walls. Some are clear. The ones that are clear of condensation seem to skim better. Why is this? Do I have to seal the collection cup top with a o ring?

Hey Euro Reef guys and gals is a Euro Reef CS62 w/ Sedra 3500 skimmer a good deal for $190? Also is this a good skimmer for a 75 gallon tank? Thanks Ryan

Yes that is a good deal considering the cs6+2 go for $412.00 - $450.00 new. The skimmer is good for a 75 gallon tank, it's rated for a 150 gallons.

California Man: I noticed that when ever I install a new skimmer or when I clean my skimmer, there is a lot of condensation it at first. When it starts working (producing skimmate) it goes away and is replaced by foam. It was true with my Seaclone, my Aqua C EV-150, and now, with my ER CS 6-2+. It is probably due to the water evaporating from the bottom of the skimmer rising through the open neck (with no foam) into the cup. It stops when the neck is filled with thick foam. Right or wrong, my 2 cents.

It makes perfect sense... and yes your two cents did count and made sense. My skimmer after 72 hours is rocking and doing very well. The foam seems to be getting thicker and bubbles are larger. The collection cup is below a quarter full and getting darker and darker as time goes by. The neck where the foam enters the collection cup is getting dark brown film around the inside. I think my skimmer is well on it's way. My tanks water quality I'm sure is improving with the oxygenation and water contact with air. I love my first euro reef!

I clean the neck and the cup when ever I empty it, usually once a week. But that was with my Aqua C EV-150. I may have to empty the Er twice a week. I just take the cup off, clean it and put it back.

I've been doing some research on these Euro's and I found that you can modify the skimmer and attach an additional pump to create more bubbles therefor making the skimmer more and highly effcient. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Depending on the size of the skimmer. Some of the skimmers from ER's are spec'd with two pumps. They are typically the larger models, 8-3 and up. I'm not saying it can't be done though. You just have to find the right pump I guess. I will say that Arconom had the beta upgrade done to his CS6-2 and now it is over-powerd. You might expirience the same issue by adding another pump to your 6-2+. Jim

That's what I was afraid of, over doing the production of micro bubbles can be a real issue. Too many bubbles in the tank can kill your live stock. That's like blowing nitrogen dioxide into your room for air to breath.

Does anyone know of a diffrent pump I can use for my CS6+2 besides the Sedra? it's makes too much noise and vibrates my entire DIY 55 gallon sump/ecosystem.
