Thats a 12-1 in a $17 HD utility tub.
There is also a Remoro pro hanging on. Its running... but its junk as it is IMO... Perhaps I could spend money on another larger mag and this and that... but then I might as well get another ER for that cost.... but thats another thread.

The botom of the picture shows the over flow... it looks like a pipe going up... but thats just there to let air in. It actually flows down into a 100g rubbermaid. From the rubbermaid the water goes back to the tank.

After 1 week of running my CS6-1 with the RC mod, I have decided to undo the new connections and plug them up for now. Even though the bubbles seemed to be chopped finer, foam production was lees than before no matter how I adjusted it. The stock Sedra3500 just does not pull enough air and the extra bubbles flowing through the venturi probably slow it down even more. I tested this by inserting a sleeve into the intake to restrict the flow and increase the velocity and it helped some. I would like to try it again if I could get some information from Euroreef on how to increase airflow on the 3500. Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m thinking there are issues here with all of the new pump beta testing going on. I wonder if anyone with the CS6-2RC has had the same problem?

ER does not offer a 6-1 RC model. I would think that there is some R&D behind this, and as a result, there is a reason why your DIY mod doesn't work properly. Just my 2 cents. Jim

do sedra 5k's come with the venturi , if not where can i buy the venturi that comes on the euroreef sedra's? sorry for my stupidity , doing a diy and the "squish the pvc venturi" mod has not worked well for me in the past.

I did the gate valve modification on my cs6-2 last weekend. I really like the operation now. The tube was too hard to move up and down to really fine tune, but the gate valve is the way to go. You can really fine tune with this valve. I highly recommend this for your ER. I think that I had less than $30 into the supplies.

ugh , I know the Volute is a injected molded piece and those molds cost a crap load of money but jeeeez 50 bucks for 2 pieces of plastic
.. haha thanks tenshi looks like i will be going with the knock off.

It's not a knock off. It's the same venturi. Ask for the ASM G3 venturi for the Sedra 5000. I really think Custom Aquatic gets them from the same place ASM and Euro-Reef get them at. By the way the volute is $7.99 for the Sedra 5000 and the volute and venturi for the Sedra 5000 is the same parts for the Sedra 9000.

i'm sure they aren't cheap...sorry. and i am sure they only want to get people w/ ER skimmers...and the would raise the price to make up for the people that don't...just a thought

I'm setting up my new tank this weekend. I want to "T" off my drain line and feed my Euro-Reef RC skimmer. Does anyone who uses an AGA overflow kit "T" off their drain line to feed their skimmer? I have never used one and I'm not sure how smooth these overflows kits work. I've read some other posts about concerns with flow consistancy. Should I be concerned about this? My other options are obviously to buy a seperate feed pump or "T" off my return. Any thoughts? I would really appriciate all the feedback I can get because I need to do this mod to my drain before the weekend. Thanks! Jim

Hello everyone! Well after fighting with UPS for a few months, I'm finally joining the Euroreef Club. I originally purchased a used 12-1RC but it was badly damaged in a box UPS packed. Fortunately there was insurance on it, unfortunately it took almost 3 months to collect on the claim! I finally got a brand new one ordered (actually a 12-2RC) and when I received it, it was slightly damaged as well during shipping! I was ready to pull my hair out, but calmed down and did alittle work to repair it. The only disappoinment with it is how much room it takes up with the recirculating pumps on the sides, made me have to change my sump layout for under the tank. BUT, I'm looking forward to getting it up and running on the 240g reef I am setting up.

As the ER forum and previous threads apparently have been removed, does anyone know of any mods for the RC models?
