I'm planning on building my own Ca reactor. Has anyone (preferably in the NW suburbs) built their own before? I've seen several websites with step by step intrstuctions but I'd like to see one completed.

Thanks

Ed your PM Box is full,

Let me know when you get this together, your gonna have to teach me I want one too :)

I just picked up a CA reactor from Doug today. Top notch work, I can't wait to get it running!

Thanks Doug!

build or buy

build or buy

When you do a CA reactor you can go high quality or low quality.
Fancy and or really really basic.

If you want to go high quality and really nice you won't save much money in my opinion. But if you are looking to learn and make it exactly the way you want it - go for it.

Just go into with open eyes.

By the way - I love my CMAS Reactor Mania Day Calc Reactor.

Highlander and Doug:

Does this match your experience as well?
Do you think a high quality vs basic reactor makes a functional differnce?
How much in parts (not CO2 tank, regulator, pump, media) did yours cost?

Thanks

IME, material costs are probably less than half the purchase price of a commercial unit, for what I would consider a "quality" product.

these are a few of the raectors I have made for people .
