Evergrow LED system

Hello there,

This is probably in the wrong forum. I figure I would solicit advice from SPS keepers regarding lighting as this is what I really like to keep.
Close to a year ago I started with this light. Seems to do well for a couple of months. I added a few high end pieces that I ended up losing after a while.

Since then I added a dual T5 aquatic life fixture and everything actually started to grow.

I am now thinking of replacing the T5 with a single 150 watt HOT halide. Will this be strong enough to supplement my LED and actually penetrate a 24" deep tank? Thanks in advance.

You'll need more lights for SPS. Two T-5's are not enough.
I don't know anything about your LED fixture, maybe others can chime in

If this is for 30x30x24 then 6 24" T-5's, or maybe a single 250watt Mogul(not quite enough for 30" though it would work.

This is nice...

Thanks for the quick response. I am not removing the LED system. Just thinking of adding a single bulb halide. I actually like the LED. T5s can get really expensive..

Here's a more accurate picture. Everything seems to be coloring up. Not sure if it's because tank is more stable now or due to the addition of the two T5s.

oops! DP..

I run (2) 250watt Phoenix 14k and (2)DIY 24 bulb LED strips on a 4x2x2 120.
Mostly SPS tank, great color and growth

Someone has a 250watt Radium setup for sale in FS section that's basically new.
Depending on your hood setup I would look into it.

I am not sure what panels you have but for the size tank in your stationary, Id get a small form factor pendant like Lumenmax 2 and run 250w radium on m80 ballast and use two D2120 panels on each side on a slight angle toward the center only running the blues.

You will be very amazed of the results.

I do this over my sump and the frag area is 36X24X18 and I can color anything under that combo.

Here's the set up. I was thinking of using a "Hang On Tank" halide like the one that Coralife makes for the supplement. I need to be able to somehow make it compliment the halide fixture.

why don't you buy another fixture and hang it parallel with the fixture you have. Will cover the footprint a lot better.
