Everyones opinions on deflating mags

You don't have to float them if you drip them. By dripping, the temp should equilbrates and floating is not needed. I would have plenty of fresh mix water on hand to replace any water you use to drip the anemone. Once the salinity is the same, and most of the water in the anemone container is tank water, I just transfer the anemone over to the tank with minimal water. I hate to add water from LFS (local or otherwise) into my tank.
Replace any water use from the tank with new water mixed at least 24 hrs ago.

The mag is in the tank and is fully inflated. While I acclimated it never deflated... you would think it would want to get rid of the old water but it stayed inflated. The mouth is slightly open and I can't tell if its closing or opening, is there anything I can be doing? Lastly the clowns jumped right in, should I remove them for a few days or will the nem be fine?

I would just try to keep a close eye on it and its mouth to see if its o.k and take it from there as far as the clowns go.

Mouth ended up closing pretty well today but is very slightly open now during the night. Its only day one and still has yet to deflate.

This certainly seems to be the case. As was mentioned in my other post, I am dealing with this and the following has been the result of my changes.

After the first couple of days, the Nem would deflate each day at around 4PM and stay that way until around 10pm/midnight at which point it would go back to normal until 4PM the next day. Same process each day.

After having recieved the above advice, I started by reducing the photoperiod some, and then decided to lower the light level in general. Using the AI lights, I decreased intensity on each channel about 12%. The next day, he still deflated some at 4PM, but was back open nicely by 8PM this time. As such, I backed off on the photoperiod again some on the front and back end with the white and blue LED's. I will see what the result is tomorrow.

I assume I will quickly get to a point where he is open consistently. Once there, I will let him settle in, and then slowly ramp up intensity/photoperiod.

I will keep all posted.

Any updates with your nem? I've almost had mine for two weeks and these past two days it deflated for the first time and have since been doing water changes and I adjusted my lights. Anything else I should be doing?

Check your water params? Also have you done anything to the tank lately woth dosing or water changes? Might. think about doing a min. 25% water change. How much has it been deflated?

I added my weekly chemicals for the first time after a week in the tank and a day later the deflations started(2). Done about 20% water change and have more mixing. The deflations only last 3 hours tops. My pH was a little low and my nitrates sky rocketed and are slowly becoming their usual levels.

Well just remember that lower water changes aren't as good as one large water change. I normally do 50% waterchange if I see anything funky. I haven't had issues with any of the nems, but I certainly would change a high amount if I did. Also are you running carbon? I have noticed it seems to help if there is anything strange going on within a day.

Measure your iodide and get it to .06 or .08 if shes a big girl. U be surprised how much iodide these guys suck in to stay healthy. I think that's y u see such a huge change in their behavior after massive water changes. Some salt mixes have iodide already in it so with a water change u dose iodide as well. But depending on the type of algae u have in your refugium as well as the size of the anemone your iodide levels can be depleted almost immediately in a stress condition for your anemone. So measure and keep on top of it. Especially if she is deflating constantly and or spilling her guts out too often.
