He brought over a D600, straight out of the box.

I have a D7000, and while I haven't really gotten the time to learn it yet, I've enjoyed it thus far.

Great shots!! Might need a new FTS since it has been since Oct. Great tank and build thread!
Thanks. I started a new a thread a little over a month ago with a photo update here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2262057 (In hindsight, I probably should have just added those photos on this thread)

I'm having some issues as of late. A bacterial infection is affecting certain LPS colonies; chalices, favias, brains, and acans. Nothing else is effected, so a dip concoction is in order on the effected pieces. I do regret to report I have lost a few entire pieces to this crap; some that I've grown for years. But it wouldn't be reefing if all was easy, right? :sad1:

I'm also about to loose my clam of 2 years to pinched mantle disease. I gambled on keeping a Tahitian maxima, and it infected my thriving, healthy clam. Ugh. :worried2: Despite my best efforts to give it a clean bill of health, it continues to decline.

The good news, the SPS look fantastic and continue to grow. Guess I'll be replacing my lost LPS pieces soon.

Yep, D600. Still a lot to learn. Let me know if I can help you pick something out Francis.

Bummer to hear about the LPS. You have some amazing pieces so I hope the others pull through!

His tank is lit with two very nice DIY LED fixtures, which are kind of hard to take pictures under but look great in person.

any info on LED fixture? What kinda bulbs and the ratio or white/blue?
I have a DIY LED on my 12G nano, 4blue/4white cree but the colors of the coral look dull...:sad2:

All of my wrasses throughout the years have come from only four sources, either Aquatouch, Reef Culture, Diver's Den, or Pacific Island Aquatics.

And there's reason for that; each of those does their own QT and/or treatment procedure.

Thanks again for having us over to grill after the FRAG meeting. Here are some of the pictures that turned out. Next time I won't wait until the lights turn down before I start shooting. I think I could have gotten some even better ones with more light. Next time!

Took a ton of pictures of these two doing the happy dance. They're show stoppers for sure:

So hard to capture how beautiful this fish is when it starts flashing, really an incredible site:
