Evo's 26.2 Gallon – Custom Rimless

I finally got some time yesterday to make my light hanger for my Tek Light.

Here is the link to the article from Reef Keeping - http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2009-04/diy/index.php

And here is how it turned out - bent EMT pipe at Lowes

Love the rock work. Now cover them with coral!
Thanks shananagans - just waiting on the freakin cycle !!!!

Savage - I initially was going to have a rock centerpiece but really started liking the branch pieces more, every time i looked at them - especially for SPS .

What did you use to cycle your tank and introduce nitrifying bacteria since your rock was dry and you have no substrate?

MurphysLaw - I used Microbacter 7 from Brightwell Aquatics. This stuff works wonders !!! But since I was dosing and seeding my Biopellet reactor (once it was seeded) I had a major bacteria bloom = extremely milky / cloudy water from my BP which lasted about 2 1/2 weeks. So I took my BP reactor offline and am now using it for a Carbon / GFO reactor. Also going to be using Chaeto in my sump for some pod population. I am still dosing .5 ml of microbacter 7 every other day my water is clear. But I thought I would try the Bio Pellets for a less maintenance method opposed to daily dosing unfortanely I learned that with Bio Pellets it would probably work better with a larger aquarium and not so much on a nano set up as there is no real way to adjust (only by the ball valve) or know the amount of nutrients that the tank is actual receiving from the discharge of the bio pellets. It would be easier and more accurate to manual dose or set up a dosing pump.

Quick Update - I picked up a Bi Color Blenny and a Chalk Bass this weekend !!!

I use that same bulb combo, its my favorite so far. Good pics, your setup is very tidy and i especially like your frag plug storage container that doubles as a sump ;)
