exotic colors

Here are two of my newest clams. Farm raised Maxima I got from Rob at East Coast Clams. They are a pair of healthy beautiful maxima that are growing.

The lighter blue one lookds exactly like the max in the red sea.

the tear drops seems like vietnam max, i just saw a big bunch of them, all were in excellent shape, the leg was not damaged in any of'em.

I don't have it set up for top down picture right now. It usually take lots of time and arrangement most of the time for me to take top down pictures since I have my clams at the bottom of a 34 inches high tank.
The blue max pictures are actually pictures from Rob. My Sailfin blenny took a liking to the mantle of the blue clams and took several chunks off the mantles before I was able to remove him. Because of this reason, I did not post my pictures of these clams at this time.

he loves to show off!

Bergzy,
How long have this Crocea in this position and place in your tank?
I asked because it seem like he is hyperextended which is a sign of not getting enough light. He also seem to be slightly bleached.
Is he growing? and how much light you have over him?

OH myyyy

Agent......whwre is the green TD from?
and where are the golden from???

The golden in the middle is really nice.

Chad at Reefscience hooked me up with the blue teardrop and the other one is still at Premium Aquatics (cherry pics)...its CHEAP!

minh,

he is at the bottom of my 125 with 400w 10k bulbs. he is not in a shadow but also is not directly under the bulb.

he has always appeared a little bleached out and always has extended like that. i thought he was gaping at first but it 'seems' normal for him. the other clams on the sand as well don't do this. i thought he just has extra mantle tissue.

he has been in the same location since early november.

what are your thoughts about him?

As long as he is putting out new shell, then he is fine. I agree that he seem a little bleached and hyperextended. How ever, it he is growing then...
It seem like he should have enough light under the 400 W MH.
