I still think that fish look like damsel. Just more exotic looking damsel. Again, I woulldnt pay more than 10 bucks that. Maybe the fish die and they said they sold it, who know. I don't think anyone would pay 900 bucks for the fish.

Are you being serious? You think the interruptus looks like a damsel? If so, then which fish do you consider good looking?

Here's a good looking damsel:spin2:

maximus, i couldn't fathom paying that much for a fish when i saw this thread or saw the first pic posted. but after seeing yours and having been engrossed in other hobbies before, i could see paying high dollar for a prize like you have. those guys/gals are gorgeous.

Hehe, I'd pay 2-3k for that damsel!!! Wonder why the color is so muted? It's a peppermint, right?

Yeah, but it's a baby still. I'm sure I'll never get a chance to see a baby in person during this lifetime:(

That picture has AXELROD written all over it  Just look at those tatterred fins. You'd think he pulled most his fish from the dead bin at the local LFS near him

Thanks KMP. I have really enjoyed these fish for the past 2 years. When I first received the male, I opened the bag and couldn't believe that I had spent so much money on a tiny fish. I had no idea it would be this small when I ordered it. The colors were amazing, however. I quickly got attached to it and had to order another one! Frank sent me out a female a few weeks later. I really took a chance on these fish because my tank was barely 3 weeks old! I figured no guts, no glory:D These guys have been 100% reef safe and have never picked on any of my acros, clams, or other corals. Would I purchase them again? In a heartbeat! In fact, I would pay double for them!

my fav angels are blue face and majestic. At least they look like the cost alot. not like that damsel looking angel. it looks cheap.

Definitely a beautiful pair. and T/R's at that. I would consider T/R fish to be worth at least double the W/C price re: the whole centropyge genus.

Thanks Jim:)

Bettaman,
If you are ever in the Monterey area, I welcome you to stop by and see these fish. It just might change your mind.

Hi Sang, how's life?

I think RCT is still around, I just got an email from Frank. I'm going to get one of his hybrids or possibly a pair and he just informed me that they'll be ready to go the first week of Novemeber. So for the time being RCT is still in business and operational and hopefully they will be for the longterm. I think that with the sales of this new fish, they should be around for a long time, enough to start producing these babies again^^^^^^^^^ Can't wait, they're next on my list along with the true C. resplendens!!! :D

Oh, and Exotic wasn't ripping anyone off, pretty good price when Marine Center and others charges $1200-$1400.

And if you don't see the beauty in that fish then I don't know what to say

Life's good. I'm in SoCal for my last year of school. Cespitularia is doing great too! Tank's at home in Sac, but I've got friends and family taking care of it for me. I miss it tho :(

I sure was glad to hear from Frank, this thread had me worried for a minute!

Glad to hear that RCT is alive and kicking. I really wish Frank would start posting at RC. That would be awesome! Congrats on your last year of school!

OMG! that is a beautiful fish, but unless it pooped 24K pellets I wouldn't buy it...I imagine an exotic fish colector would buy it and put it next to the tank with the "Sharks with freaking lasers on the heads" don't know where I got that... either way with the great selection of other fish I just don't see it...I'd feel really silly if I bought it and in 2 years they became as common as damnsels...is it hard to care for?
