external fuge?

so I set up 75 g against the wall (2 inches), no fuge no pump which I'm beginning to regret already.

there isnt, much space to hide equiptment in this room and can't plumb things to other rooms anyways. Plan is to have mixed coral and fish, so planning ahead, what the H am I going to feed these things.

So the question is, does it make any sense to build a deep sand macro algae 15-20g separate fuge tank and just do water transfers as a method of feeding everything later.

Cant really see starting over with a proper overflow tank, and dont trust those hang on overflows (no room on the back)

does a external fuge for non filtration make any sense to anyone?

I think it would be pretty hard; you'd have to somehow control the parameters in both tanks to keep them equal.

Why not just partition part of your tank with acrylic or some such and make it a fuge within the tank? Or even go the old fashioned route of having caulerpa or chaeto in the tank? People used to do it- a pain in the neck to keep it all under control, but it worked. Sort of.

Hi if you go with the macro in your tank, you could always get one of those plastic shower caddy things that is shaped like an open ended box with suction cups on them stick it to a place in the tank that gets flow but isn't so noticable and stuff it with the algae. this way your algae won't be blowing all over the place in your tank and maybee some pods may grow in there.

Or you could put a small tank on a shelf at a higher level than the display ,then pump up to it and gravity feed back down .It could also add some interest if done well ( that's what I did on my tank)

Couldnt that affect the salinity though? i you add salt water you wont know when to top off you DT with fresh water.
