i have a few heads of paradise zoas for sale. these are one of the newest sought after zoas on the market. most reefers that bought these had them melt on them. i have a few heads for sale. here is a pic of the mother colony. i would take pics of mine but sadly i dont have a camera only a crappy cell phone cam lol.

Picture-152.jpg

im asking $65 a head or best offer. if my price is off please let me know. last time i checked they where selling for $250+ for 2-3 heads.

Those zoa people are a little "touched"

wait what?!?!?!

if u mean the image is touched up then i have no idea. here is one i know for sure is not touched up. its all on the lighting being used.

no.. lol I mean The zoa people in general..The only person in the zoa community that is a genius is the first guy that gets that rock in his shop hauled up from the sea for 10 bucks and says ..."Wow I can give these zoas a funny name and charge 75pp and those guys on the zoa forum on Reef Central will eat them up"..

but good luck with your sale :)

You asked.
Yes, your price $65 per head is way off. The picture looks familiar too and I don't think it's appropriate to use someone else's picture without their permission. $10 a head is about the going rate for unmelted ones and that may be a little high:

Fortunately folks here know a little bit and wont easily be taken. 250 for 2 to three polyps , indeed. Where did you here that? Hope you didn't pay that much.

Folks here are interested in fair trades .

Who said they are the most sought after zoanthid on the market.Never heard of them until this post. Why would they be if they melt and don't even sell well on ebay at 29.99 for 2 to three heads.?

Yes, Todd we are a little touched but not that much.

thats true Tom lol I guess we all have a coral or fish we way over pay because we have to have it..This hobby is not for penny pinchers lol

Todd , there won't be many pennies left to pinch once this hobby bites you.
That's for sure.
However, posting ebay pictures of corals which are currently on sale for around $5 to $10 per polyp as your own and selling at $65 can certainly add to your coin collection at someone else's expense.
The name game and collectibles mentality adds fun for some folks but adds to the cost.
A catchy name adds enormous value to some specimens, then there is" lineage , meaning who you bought it from and who they bought it from and so on.
For example; "Nice chalice ;how much is it for a chip?" ..$20 ..oh wait it's an original Tyree buought from Jack who bought it from Jill who carried it up the hill after getting it from , Wolf who got it from the old woman in the shoe.." "Ok then it's $700" . Whether or not it's the new "hot" coral matters in the collector's game too. Most high end stuff comes down drastically after 6 mos or so; just like many baseball cards . Take a look at the prices for purple death polyps, nuclear greens and other zoanthidae , acanastrea and sps over a 1 year period and it becomes clear that some marketers in this hobby are wanabe hedge fund managers.
Caveat emptor rules the day . Folks are just better off trading/transacting with those they know and most of the members in URS here have a good track record in that regard.

ok ok, first i did my research, and second i stated they where not my pictures. also please b4 you post comments about my price please look up what they are selling for in the reef community. of course ebay is selling cheap, u can win corals for 0.99 there! go into a reef shop and u wont ever see like ANY coral for 0.99.

here is where i got my price.

^^^ $50 for 2 heads. (remove the spaces, for some reason it wouldn't let me post the link)

^^^ here a member states he has seen them for MIN $50 a pp.

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1945864

^^^ 3 heads for $125

that was just a few postings i looked at.

so i think my price was fair?

yes my price may be a bit higher than those, by a small bit. but you also dont have to take the chance of them melting during shipping. it would be local pickup and WAY less stress. this post was in no way ment to be rude, just like i assume your posts where not meant to be rude. i am great-full for everyone's input.

These are in fact a harder to find/keep zoanthid (that was super expensive when released by Paradise Corals). Supressivefire, a Z&P guru who has grown and sold lots of these can verify, but I'm pretty sure they are still in the market of $30+/polyp. Prices are subjective, but you really shouldn't use other people photos to promote and sell your coral, regardless of whether or not you disclose it.

Let's keep this thread friendly guys. :)

yea i would love to use my own pics :-) stupid cellphone cant get a good shot of them. sorry for using others photos but i just wanted ppl 2 get a general idea of what they looked like.

as far as keeping it friendly i try lol, just everyone on here likes to flame/bash me, no idea why. im just learning like everyone else. i havent been in the hobby for years and i took a LONG break and am just getting back into it. part of the reason i quit b4 was the flaming/bashing of new members, no fun being in a hobby where if you say one wrong thing ppl jump all over you.

I'll toss a couple of comments out here and they're just personal opinions and not meant to be flame bait.

Pictures, people like to see what they're buying. Seeing a bad picture of a real item is far better than seeing a great picture of a perfect specimen. It shows not just the item but the way it's been looked after, the conditions of the tank etc. Showing me a perfect picture and then driving X many miles only to be disappointed in the real thing just causes bad feelings all around.

Coral prices, again just my impressions. From seeing folks here, buying frags from some, there seems to be a distinct lack of profit incentive. People are selling at their cost (even below in some cases) just so that there are more frags out there for everyone. That is not to say earning some $ back from things is wrong, just locally it seems that it's not whats happening. There are one or two very special corals that seem to sell fast and at higher prices (Todd's Torch for example) most everything else seems to be "who wants these, get em outta my tank".

Jon.I am friendly but I'm not a fool.:)

He asked for comment on his price and posted pictures from an ebay sale where they were selling at under $10 per polyp on a" buy it now option " with 8 3poyp frags available for 29.99 each, straight price . There was no auction to win as claimed The other picuture used is from from an ebay auction with a top bid of $22.50 for 4 polyps. He was asking $65 per polyp and noting the last time he checked they were going for$250 for 2 or 3 when clearly the lower pricing was visible next to the pictures used.:thumbdown I had been checking ebay for a few things coincidentally and the picture looked familiar so I looked for it since I hadn't seemany $65 polyps lately and was curious.
The pricing is not an honest representation of value. I'm not even sure he has the items he is trying to sell..That is not friendly.
If no comment on pricing was sought I would not have made any."if my price is off please let me know.." Cute. Once he asked about his pricing silence implies agreement that it is a good price. :( Then when someone challenges the deal he asks for no comment:headwalls:

BTW spyder , folks here don't flame people but do challenge mistatements. Who has been bashing you? This is a friendly and collegial site with fair trading that benefits us all. Let's keep it that way.

i will try to work on my pricing. i am sorry please forgive me.

Spyder .You can charge whatever you want .Honestly it's up to you and what the market will bear.. It's up to the buyer and seller to determine what a fair deal is.
Usually it is a good experience for both.
Just represent things directly without hype and misinformation : Here are the corals picture /descripiton; here is the price. Negotiations are usually done via private message. If you like you can note you'll consider reasonable offers even if they don't meet your price. There will be less misunderstandings and or challenges that way. I guarantee you if you ask for comments on a price you'll get them and they may not be what you hope to hear.

Good luck

To get good shots of your coral you may have to move them close to the glass, even a crappy cell should be 2 mega pixels use the cells highest quality, usually no flash works best for me then crop the pic to get a better view of the coral. my first camera was a 2.1 Meg and I pulled off some great macros with it.

Nice zoo's by the way would like to see a pic from you though.
