So I have a 30 gallon reef tank and been up for almost a year. I have t5 quads 96 watts light fixture and just change my light bulbs and bought ati bulbs 1purp+, 1 blue+ and 2aquablue special. and i noticing that a few zoas are losing its color and my coraline algae is fading away.... what would the problem be? i do water change every other week and maintence on pwrheads an skimmer....

Thanks

did you change all the bulbs at once?

if you did, it may very well be shocking the corals because of the sudden increase in intensity. it is recommended to change the bulbs one at a time. i did a bulb a week until all were new.

Possibly light acclimation. Not sure what bulbs you were running but the ATIs (especially the Blue+ and ABS) are some of the highest PAR bulbs you can get. When I change my T5s I do one bulb at a time about 1 to 2 weeks apart. If you don't want to put some of the old bulbs back in you should consider cutting your light cycle back and slowly bringing it back up.

I threw away the old bulbs they were done.. coraline and my happy people eaters started to fade away not to long ago. and I replace the bulbs in may.. u think my tank is over stock? I have dunkins candy cane gps a couple of favias red mush marijanes frog spwan jolly ranchers and a few more zoa frags..
