this is how mine is done 1/2in starphire the braces are on top

I think this would work, HOWEVER the strength of the silicone braces (that failed) needs to come with silicone being between the edge of the glass and the flat plane, not simply "smoothed in" along the corner where glass pieces meet, and there most likely won't be any way to get silicone between the seams unless your tank is seriously bowed out, and you can squeeze some in.Originally posted by smoke15
If I resilicon these two failed braces in place, and add two additional braces OVER the top of those two that brace from the top of the glass edge from from to back will I GREATLY strengthen that brace and help prevent future detatchment?

Now this is customer service !! AND i didnt even buy anything from him. I called him, and he went into great detail on what I should do to correct my problem. Thanks Charlie!!
I for sure didnt want this to be a leemar bashing thread, more of a help me thread. Bottom line I am going to brace the **** out of this tank and suffer the "deminished light" look .
Thanks again all for your help.

A little over 2 years ago the center brace failed on our LeeMar 225. While it was a serious pain in the uknow, I tore the tank down and sent it in to LeeMar for repairs. It also gave them the opportunity to check all the other seams in case there was stress put on them when the brace popped. They stepped up and took care of the tank even though, initially, they tried to blame it on the T5 lighting...... :eek1:

ok i read through this thread and i didn’t see this ? answered and if it did sorry and please answer again but did this tank not have a warranty of some sort on it? I mean come on its only 8 months old. I know around here most builders which there is only a few have lifetime warranties I would take these le mars? to court over this... I would think they would have to put at least a years warranty on this
