This one looks nice (dont tell Biggles I said that... :D), any idea what it is?

This should grow into a VERY nice piece:

I honestly don't have any idea about most of them. I love that green one. It's encrusting right now, but I think it'll start shooting up soon. No real coralites formations. Very interesting piece.

I normally purchase unnamed frags.

That blue stag is actually one of my favorites. I can't wait to see what it grows out to be.

Saw that remark Sahin.............. you bloody 'greener' :hammer:

Stick it on the red monti - it will look great with that color backdrop. Everything is looking very cool mate, the blue stag will be a winner

wow buddy!!!!!!
Love the corals and colors!
Amazing!

Thank you so much, Glaukos! Love your tank as well.

ROFL! Run, sahin!

That is a good idea for the frag tank, mate! But, my Monti is killing the parts of the panope it's been growing into.

Experiments to come in the frag tank...

Even better news everyone!

I just filed my tax return and I'm getting more than expected.

Camera? Check.
Sunblaze T5 4 bulb fixture? Check.
Heater for said frag tank? Check.

Wooo!

Apart from encrusting montis with the fancy names, all the other montis are wusses when up against Acropora...so that is a good idea from Biggles.

As far as Seriatopora, Poccilopora, Stylophora etc, I dont keep those weeds.

Any chance you can pickup a used ATI Sunpower instead? You should be able to find these very cheap used these days with everyone rushing towards LED. With a Sunpower, the T5 tubes will last longer and give much better PAR.

Is the Sunblaze unit actively cooled and does it have individual polished reflectors? - Those two are VERY important if you decide to stick with the Sunblaze unit.

The only reason I'm going with the Sunblaze is the price point and the fact that its going over a frag tank. It is a single contoured reflector.

I have a few computer fans laying around. I'll probably add active cooling.

If, say, it were going over my cube Reef Savvy build I would be going ATI 6 bulb Sunpower. I love ATI. I just think ATI is a little to classy for something as lowly as a 20 long frag tank.

I've been keeping an eye out for one used but am yet to find one.

That price difference is the determining factor. It's another lens for the camera, or a tripod.

Cool, I see what you mean. If you were here in the UK, you could have taken my custom modified ATI Sunpower with LED's.

As Sahin pointed out mate, most acros will have no trouble dealing with a plating monti so don't worry about that. I always use a bit of epoxy to lift the acro frag up about 1/4" away from the monti so it's encrusting and ready for battle when it meets the monti for the first time. Those 3 corals you listed couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag, wimps of the coral world that everything beats up so try an acro on that monti.
That shopping list sounds good, what 4 bulbs are you going to use over the frag tank mate. Which reminds me i need to get new T5's as mine are about 10 months old. I also need some reflector clips because the plastic ones broke and i found it in the display resting on the acros about 2 months back lol. No reflector on that B+ tube ever since which is why i have a blue ceiling in the lounge room.......:D

Guys, have a look at this amazing frag tank. Lit by two T5's and the corals have amazing colour!

Just goes to show you dont need amazing lights etc...just good old T5's will do as long as the water quality is very good.

I found it whilst researching about Jebao pumps...but ended up just admiring the SPS corals!

That's too funny! I watched this video while looking at jabao pumps as well.

Makes me feel better about not splurging on ATI just yet.

I'm really not sure yet what bulb combo I should go with. I was thinking 2 Blue+ 2 Coral+.

What do you all think?

Thats the thing. That person is only using two T5 tubes.

Your suggested combo looks fine. User Big E runs that 2xBlue+ and 2xCoral+ combo on his display and has AWESOME SPS colours.

That's the tank I had seen that inspired my choice.

I think its a great, more natural, appearance.

Pretty cool that you got enough on the rebate , more money is always welcome :p

I'd love to help with T5's, but I have no bloody clue, so I'll just shut up now

Your advise, good or bad, is always welcome! Lol

And yes, I am way happier with the rebate. It's starting off to be a good year.

Well, I'm a week in with the nudis in the tank and I'm down 3 aptasia that were very noticeable a week ago.

I don't think the wrasse touched them.

I still have 2½ egg strings in the container. They should be starting to hatch tomorrow or Sunday. We shall see.

Now, if I could get some emeralds that actually ate bubble algae...

Nice update

I've always wanted to know how effective those nudis are with aiptasia? I still have a few on my rocks that I've seen, dunno how many there are that I haven't. Anyways, easier to deal with one problem at a time :p

So far, I think they are working. I could be mistaken, but 3 aptasia just vanishing? That's a hell of a placebo effect.

Hahahaha....... how many more to go? I had a CBB for a bit that cleared out most of my tanks, but they've unfortunately come back.
