Fake Percula question

Would a fake Percula host a anenome and if so what would be the most common ones?

Do you mean false instead of fake?

Most clownfish will host on BTA or a carpet anemone.

My FALSE percs or OCCS host in my RBTA but they completely ignore my GBTA that is the same size and right below the RBTA. They touch it by accident all the time yet they still ignore it. Go figure. Heck the two nems even touch one another that is how close they are.

Popular knowledge holds that false perc's do not host as readily in anemones as true perc's. Whether that is true or not is a matter for debate. There are plently of people who will tell you that their false perc's host just fine. All I can tell you is that my false perc's have ignored my RBTA for over a year.

How I wish everyone would discontinue the use of "false Percula". Is a golden retriever a false labrador? NO! Different species, same genus. Both dogs. Both hunting dogs. Both great IMO, but definitely different species. Extrapolate to clownfish.

In fact, I think with all the designer fishes coming out, we should start calling a regular ocellaris a "True Ocellaris"...I'll give you the credit for thinking that one up!
