fallow question

So I started up my hospital tank on december 6th and let my dt fallow from that point until now @ ~82 degrees. The worst case scenario would be that the parasite left the fish seconds before being removed and went and laid it's eggs, which can lay dormant for up to 28 days. Upon hatching at 28 days and finding no host within 48 hours the parasite dies, thus ending it's life cycle in my dt. Are my assumptions correct? I am not planning on putting any fish back in there for a little while because I am in the process of upgrading but it'd be nice mental security knowing that my ls and lr are good to go.
