I went into my local fish shop today to pick up a pair of clown fish. They were listed as false clownfish . I did some reading a found out that they have a diff number of dorsal spines or something like that , but my other question is are the oranges diff, on reg and false clowns , or is it just body structure ? thanks

body, look of their eyes, color and size.
perculas have thick black boarder around their white stripes.
they grow to 3"
they have orange around the pupil of their eyes
they have less dorsal spines than the ocellaris (false percula)
Ocellaris have thin black boarder around their white stripes.
they grow to 3.5"
they have black around the pupil of their eyes
they have more dorsal spines than the percula
But once you've seen enough of these perculas and ocellaris..you can take one look at them and know exactly what they are with out counting dorsal spines.
