False lemonpeel in a reef?

I'm buying 4 fish from someone including a false lemonpeel and looking for advice on putting him in my 125 mixed reef with lots of corals.
There is a lot of LR and larger tangs and a big domino

It's a centropyge which means it's going to carry some risk of coral nipping. People will claim that one specious or another is reef safe, but there are posts of people attesting to owning destructive individuals of pretty much every species. FWIW I think it's considered one of the less likely to be reef safe dwarf angels, but they can be pretty individualistic fish like all angels.

Have to agree with the above, they are more prone to nip from my understanding. Can you ask the person you are getting it from, what kind of tank its currently in?

I've had a lemonpeel in my reef for a couple of years, and it's been pretty good. My sense is that the false is about the same. Always a risk though.

I'd be curious too. The lemonpeel (C. flavissima) is notoriously problematic. Maybe this one is better..

You should've put up a poll! I would really like a lemon peel, either false or real, but 99% of the people that I've talked to or read about their experience have said it ends badly.

How about a mimic tang as an alternative. They look like Lemon peels when young.?

I guess it depends on how one defines 'ends badly'. If you get so OCD about every and any little nip, then just don't get any dwarf angels, ever; because they will all nip.

I have a large tank and a lot of other fish as distractions, I don't keep any fleshy polyped LPS and I have had to relocate a few inverts to my refugium. Consequently lemonPeel is manageable; plus it's a stunning fish.

I tried two different ones (C Heraldi). One bigger one, one smaller. Both nipped immediately.

One was easy to get out, the other I had to drain the tank.

Beautiful fish, but my experience was not good.

If you go for it, feed it enough. But expect some nipping.

I have been keeping corals with large and small angels for many years with great success. I dont care if they nip some, as the corals are growing fast enough.
However, if they get too hungry they get far more destructive.

IME with Dwarf Angels, Lemonpeel and the Half-Black were the worst for nipping at coral. Didn't matter how much I feed them.
