False perc always in the same spot - Sick?

My false percula1 is rather boring. I don't know if he's sick or what's wrong with him. When I first got him he moved around than ich came and I put him and 2 other fishes (smaller false perc and heniochus) in QT. They were in QT for 8 weeks and treated with hypo. In QT the false perc would just hide in the PVC pipe and come out to eat. The smaller false perc ended up dying. :(

Now back in the DT he just hovers by the rock and does nothing. Only comes out for food. I introduced a larger false percula and it seems I got lucky because they are both not females and I see the twitching stuff going on with the false percula1. The bigger false percula2 swims around a lot. False percula1 was swimming with 2 for awhile but ended up going back to rock. But they hang out together.

Something I do notice with false percula1 is that it sometimes swims low close to the sand and its doing a lil bit more paddling to stay up. The mouth opens and closes more but it doesn't looks like it's breathing rapidly and I don't see any frayed fins.

if there is fighting between the pair, it can cause one of the clowns to find a spot away from the aggressive clown and hang their to stay out of his way. if not, i would say there is something wrong with it. if its stop feeding, i think it should go back to the QT and treated.

Nope, no fighting at all. The fish eats fine. It just stays in one spot and rarely swims around.

Percs generally stick to one spot for the most part. In the wild they rarely travel more than 18" away from their home. Get an anemone for them to host and they will move around even less :)

I have a false perc that does the same thing. He rarely goes to the other side of the tank where the anemone is. Look great, eats well, plays with the fire shrimp but doesnt move a lot.

I dont think its a big deal.

Same situation... only I have not added another clown. My false Perc hides in the back next to the overflow almost all the time, he only comse out to eat when food is in the water... or its 7pm (feeding time).

He will occasionally pop up and hang with the hippo but otherwise he just casually hangs behind the rocks... :sad1:

I am thinking I am going to try adding another clown, maybe a natural pair for my GBTA.

Cool, thanks guys. I remember that when I first introduced the false percula1 and heni back in the DT they were swimming together til the false perc found a new "home."
