False Perc gaining black spots.

I've noticed in the last week that our ~1 yr old false perc has began developing black spots. They began behind her pectoral fins and I did not think much of it, but today I noticed she's developed several on top of her head and on her back ventral fin and just above the back ventral fin. Other than the spots she seems ok. She's been eating and still looks fat and healthy. She began hosting in the pulsating xenias two weeks ago. Could that have anything to do with it or should I be concerned about something else?

Here's a pic of her just a month ago. I can't get a good pic of her with the spots, but I'll keep trying. The second pic has boxes around where the spots have developed and also behind her pectoral fins.

mine has gotten them recently too... has he/she started hosting anything lately? any zoos in your tank? it seems for most people these spots are zoo related, mine are more likely from the torch he has started hosting in... they usually wear off, sometimes they dont... just luck of the draw

Come to think of it I did see her rubbing against some of the zoas today. But that is the only time I can think of her doing it. Like I said she's taken to the pulsating xenias lately, but I hadn't noticed extended contact with the zoas.

my onyx clownfish has recently developed spots like you describe in those same locations except the head but the only thing mine hosts is a GBTA and hardly leaves two inches from it. still eats plenty and swimming normally. weird! i thought it might be due to breeding for coloration but maybe it's a seasonal thing with all clownfish???!?!? i wish fish could talk. :p
