False Perc immunity to an RBTA

I have a pair of Oscellaris that have been in a 90G tank with an RBTA for the past 6 months. The female finally starting paying some attention to the RBTA about a month ago. I've been feeding the anemone first trying to coax the female in, which is working, but it appears she keeps getting stung.

Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes for the Oscellaris to build up an immunity to the sting of an RBTA once it starts sticking it's nose in there?

They're not naturally affiliated, so it could take some time. If she's started, however, it's a pretty good sign that she'll make it in eventually.

what are you feeding them? Clowns secrete the same chemical as the makeup of their natural hosts. It may takes some time for the clown to adapt to an artificial host if at all.

I have never heard that explanation of a clowns immunity and its attraction to its preferred host. Is this from a study?

IME, it is not unusual for clowns to get stung once in a while even after they are acclimated. If the clown is getting stung enough to keep it from accepting the anemone, I would be worried about the clowns overall health. The only other thing I can think of is if the pH level is too low, it might somehow be affecting the chemical makeup of the clown's slime layer.

put a pic of a clownfish on the side of the tank....mine ran right to the nem and has hardly left since...:D
