My False Personifer pair from Pacific Island Aquatics arrived today. Here are a few pictures of the pair. The male has a gorgeous mask. I know, I know I need to remember to clean the glass before taking pictures next time.

awesome pair! i was very tempted on buying it too, but have my pair(true and false pr) already. I really wish I had one male though.

What else are you keeping in the tank?

Nice! I love my pair... Let us know how they do with corals. Mine are in a FOWLR...

My male:

They are with a Chrysurus, a Bluespotted, a Regal and Multicolor angels. Also 2 Purple Firefish, 3 Threadfin Cardinals and a Blonde Naso. They all are in a 210 gallon setup. I only keep leathers and mushrooms so I am not concerned about them with my corals.

The Falses ate right everything that was fed to the tank this evening. They ate the mysis, nori, flake and pellet.

wow! very nice pair. how big is the male? does anyone know at what size can a personifer's sex be determined? I have one about 4-5" but looks like a female. Only has a few dots on the face.

Very stunning pair but the male looks very skinny to me.....???

Agreed. They are skinny, and I would have preferred to see them in QT first, so you could dose prazi and even metro in the food for internal parasites. If they are eating well, I'd be feeding them many times per day.

I completely agree with SDGUY!! I could never see myself spend this much on fish and not bother to QT! It's a also a risk to the rest of the tank.

The male is 5.5" and the female is 4.5".

QT is not an option for me due to living space. They are eating everything that is fed to the tank presently.

A lot of PE mysis and pellets will fatten them up. I dont worry much about water quality since i'm FOWLR, so I feed my fish all day long.

+1 large sized pellets are the best food to fatten fish up fast. Feed 4+ times a day if you can (pellets 2x and frozen or fresh food the other times). And if you can't I suggest getting an autofeeder.

The fish look great and I hope they do well for you.

My friend is losing his and i lose one too
His Stop eating after prazipro and get intimidated

I am thinking of getting another male 5-6"

Any tips and suggestion
Thanks

Use a qt tank fatten them up first and then ramp the medication up slowly. I've had fish go on hunger strikes after prazipro treatment also.

Agreed. Unless there is some pressing need for it (ie the fish is visibly covered in flukes) I don't prazi until the fish is eating well and has good weight.
